INSTRUCTIONS

KANGAROO Non-Shrink Grout (450 KSC) is suitable for grouting applications to fill gaps between concrete and concrete structures such as grouting cavities in concrete surfaces, grouting and leveling precast concrete column base, grouting and leveling column head from beam support, grouting concrete wall joints, leveling steel plate base for machine installation and steel column base. Produced from Type I Portland cement, according to the standards of MOC15/1-2547 and ASTM C-150. With specially selected chemical additives enhance flowability, ease of pouring, and non-shrink properties, resulting in high-quality work.

Preparation

– Prepare the necessary work equipment.

– The surface to be poured must be strong, clean, and free from obstacles that may hinder the adhesion, such as dust, paint, oil stains, or surface-coating agents.

– In case of repair work, remove any loose or damaged parts until reaching the sound concrete surface

– For embedding or fastening materials, follow the design and engineering standards. The materials used must be free from rust, oil stains, or corrosion.

– For pouring work, use materials that do not absorb water or apply a water-repellent coating to prevent cement adhesion. Maintain a distance of approximately 5 cm between formwork and the base edge, with the formwork slightly higher than the base to ensure strength and prevent cement leakage at the joints.

– For large bases, construct formwork boxes to accomodate the weight of the materials and ensure proper compaction throughout the length of the base, preventing air gaps beneath the surface.

– Moisten the concrete surface and ensure there is no waterlogging before pouring.

Mixing

For a dense mix (PLASTIC-ASTM C1437), mix 4.75-5.00 liters of water with material, resulting volume of 17.50 liters.

For a liquid  mix (POURING), mix 5.00-5.25 liters of water with material, resutlting volume of 17.75 liters.

For a maximum flowability mix (FLOWABLE-ASTM C1437) ,mix 5.25-5.50 liters of water with material, resulting volume of 18.00 liters.

The quantity of water and the mixing ratios depend on the type of application, according to the mixing ratio from the information provided.

Machine Mixing

Mixing with a machine is suitable for  liquid mixing at a speed not exceeding 500 rpm. Mix continuously for approximately 3-5 minutes until the mortar is consistent. Set aside the mixture for 1-3 minutes to reduce air bubbles from mixing. Then, it can be use immediately. Do not add water after the mixing is complete.

Hand Mixing

Mix by hand (using a trowel) until the mortar is consistent and free from lumps. It can be use immediately.

Pouring

Pour the pre-mixed grout immediately before the mortar begins to set. This process should be done at high temperatures to accelerate the setting of materials. Pour the grout from  one side to the opposite side, covering the entire desired area to prevent the air gaps.

Precautions

– Once mixed with water, it is recommended to use  within 15-20 minutes. – Contained  cement, may cause irritation if it comes into contact with skin or eyes. – Rinse eyes thoroughly with water if irritation occurs and seek medical attention.

Storage

Keep in dry and shaded area. – 2 months of shelf life.

Suggestions

The temperature range of approximately 5.0-40.0 ˚C  is suitable for concrete work. Proper usage and mixing of mortar help reduce the risk of cracks. Lifting the mortar in a proper posture can prevent muscle strain and injury.
