A plumb (Lookding) is a tool for builders. It is a plummet with a pointed end and a rope attached at the other. It is used to find a vertical line perpendicular to the earth to serve as a reference line for construction. 

A plumb is also one of the tools of Vishnu, the father of construction, held in his left hand. All Thai builders considered it as a symbol of precise and accurate construction.
